Membership Options
Occupational Therapists and stakeholders are invited to join the DFC by becoming a Subscriber or a Member.
The DFC offers information and training primarily tailored for Occupational Therapists, aligning with occupational therapy intervention principles. However, the DFC also welcomes participation from other stakeholders involved in fitness to drive and community mobility, with the understanding that they should apply the information within their professional scope of practice.
Subscribers
Occupational Therapists and stakeholders who have an interest in driving and community mobility intervention and would like to know more about this field of practice are invited to register as a subscriber.
Subscribers will be informed via email about:
- DFC training and relevant training resources offered by other service providers.
- DFC journal clubs.
- DFC interest group meetings.
To become a subscriber is free.
- Regular journal club and training fees apply for subscribers.
- Subscribers will be informed about the details of the DFC interest group meetings, however, participation in the interest group meetings is restricted to members.


Members
Occupational Therapists and stakeholders, who would like to expand their knowledge and involvement in driving and community mobility intervention are invited to register as members.
Similar to the service offered for subscribers, members will be informed via email about:
- DFC training and relevant training resources offered by other service providers.
- DFC journal clubs.
- DFC interest group meetings.
In addition to receiving notifications, members:
- Will receive a discounted rate to attended training and journal club meetings.
- Will be invited to attend DFC interest groups free of charge.
The benefits of attending DFC interest groups:
- Four interest groups are hosted each year, with a focus on case study discussions and sharing of resources.
- Interest groups are hosted on an online platform and therefore easily accessible.
- CPD points are allocated to each interest group meeting.
- The interest group platform allows for interactive discussions and the creation of supportive networking between occupational therapists working in the field.
The annual membership fee is R670.
- Membership fees are valid for 1 year from the date of registration.
- Members have the option of de-registering or downgrading to a subscriber, however membership fees are not refundable.
- Membership is up for renewal on an annual basis and is optional.
