Overview
The purpose of this lesson is to provide the attendee with the skills to assist clients in transitioning from driving cessation to accepting alternative transportation options, enabling them to continue engaging in meaningful activities within their community.
The lesson is divided into 3 topics:
- Driving cessation, where the processes of informing and assisting the client to accept driving cessation is discussed.
- Non-driving community mobility, where various transport options within the South African context are explored and matched to the client’s needs.
- Transition to using alternative transport, where everything is pulled together, to help the client embrace alternative transport options.
